Refunds and Returns
Store refund, return, and purchase handling
This draft policy provides default refund and return expectations for Chart-Ed store or commerce experiences, subject to any more specific checkout or contract terms.
Effective date: April 6, 2026
Last updated: April 6, 2026
Document version: Draft v1.0
Why this policy exists
If Chart-Ed offers educational materials, subscriptions, or related goods through a public store or commerce workflow, customers should be able to review refund and return expectations separately from the Terms of Use.
Draft default rules for physical goods
Unless a different term is presented at checkout or in a written agreement, physical goods may generally be eligible for return within 30 days of delivery if they are unused, in original condition, and not marked as final sale. Customers should contact Chart-Ed before sending a return so the order can be reviewed and a return path can be confirmed.
If a physical item arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from the order confirmation, customers should contact Chart-Ed promptly so a replacement, correction, or refund can be reviewed.
Draft default rules for digital goods
Digital goods, downloads, and immediately accessible digital materials are generally not refundable once access has been granted or delivery has occurred, except where required by law or where the product is defective, inaccessible as delivered, or duplicated in error.
Subscriptions, services, and district purchases
Subscription services, pilots, implementation work, and district or institutional purchases may be governed by invoice terms, order forms, or subscriber agreements rather than this public policy alone. Where those documents apply, they may control cancellation, refund, and offboarding terms more specifically.
Nonreturnable items
Items identified as final sale, customized or institution-specific materials, used physical materials, and certain delivered digital goods may be nonreturnable unless otherwise required by law or expressly approved by Chart-Ed.
Current status
This page is a draft default policy and should be finalized against the actual store workflow, fulfillment method, payment provider, and digital-goods model before broad commerce launch.
